Description: A nice presentation of orchids in wooden baskets surrounding the base of an Ogee style wrought iron archway and plants in pots and on plaques nicely arranged vertically using the archway as the foundation, allowing viewing from all around the display; genera include predominantly Mexican Laelia species and their hybrids, Cattleyas and Vanda’s along with Cymbidiums, Oncidiums and Paphiopedilums adding variety.

Description: Eighteen flowers on three upright, slightly arched, up to 32.0-cm racemose inflorescences, two from one growth, borne on a 32.0-cm wide by 29.0-cm tall plant consisting of two leafless and three mature pseudobulbs in a 10.0 cm wood basket growing in moss; pseudobulbs ovate, compressed laterally giving sharp edges up to 7.0-cm long by 3.1-cm wide and 1.5-cm thick subtended by several distichous overlapping folded sheaths, with the upper four bearing acuminate, narrowly lanceolate folded blades 22.0-cm long and 3.1-cm wide; leaves two per growth apically attached, acuminate, narrowly lanceolate, 27.0-cm long by 3.7-cm wide, longitudinally folded basally forming short narrow stem, heavily spotted brown; sepals and petals narrowly lanceolate , acuminate, undulate, distally reflexed, light chartreuse, blotched light tan, sepals cupping centrally, petals somewhat porrect; lip oblong with swelling proximally to form small side lobes, cuspidate, incurved, white, light chartreuse centrally, blotched purple centrally along veins, callus white, column light chartreuse, stigmatic surface purple, anther cap white; substance firm; texture crystalline; country of origin is Peru; Odontoglossum helgae, award 20152136, has been confirmed to be Oncidium gayi by SITF (Jan 2016); recognized for rarity in cultivation.
